Milestones

Why do kids grow up so fast?  I love watching them learn new things, but really, can we not just slow down for a minute?  Kinley is really mobile now.  She is starting to get some better balance and stood still for a few seconds and then took a step all by herself.  And, she is now an animal at the stairs.  She can be up them within a few seconds.  She has also started to say her first word: Dada.  Yep, it is true.  Tim is pretty happy that her first word was Dada.  She loves her Daddy so much.  When ever he gets home from work, she will just start smiling so big and giggling.  It is precious!  Kinley is really busy.  I can not believe how much she moves.  It is really hard to get her to sit still for just a few seconds.  This week she did start sleeping for 11 hours a night!  Yes, it has only taken 8 months, but finally she sleeps!!!!  Her top tooth has broken through the gums, and it looks like there are 2 more right behind it.
Kinley had a follow up with the ENT today.  The Doctor was a bit concerned that Kinley was still pretty noisy when she was breathing.  She wants to do a scope in the office again right before she turns one.  This is to just make sure everything is the same.  Then, if Kinley is still noisy, we will have to think about doing surgery when she is 18-24 months old.  Right now we can get away without the surgery because Kinley is growing and thriving.  So, keep it up little one, keep it up!

Grandparents

I LOVED having Mom and Dad here.  We live so far from all our loved ones, that when people come to visit, I never want them to leave!  I just want Mom and Dad to move in next door, I think that would make our last 3 years on the East Coast so much easier.  We had so much fun just hanging out with Meme and Grandpa.  Grandpa spent a lot of time watching the kids so Mom and I could go out.  It was such a treat to me to be able to go do stuff with out the kids in tow.  Kinley and Grandpa became pretty close and she was kind of a bear after he left.  After Meme and Grandpa drove away, Carter looked at me through his tears and said the only thing that could make him feel better was to go to Costco and get some pizza.  So, that is what we did.
Please come back soon Mom and Dad.  I am not used to taking care of 2 kids by myself.  It is harder then I remembered....

Finger painting

I forgot to put the finger paint away after Carter finished playing. Kinley found it when my back was turned. Luckily her squeals of delight gave her away within seconds. I can only imagine the mess...

Lapp

Want to know where the best ice cream in the world is made?  Well, I don't like giving out my secrets, but I doubt very many of you will be able to make a trip into the heart of Amish country, so I guess I am safe.  Intercourse, PA is the home of the best cream you will ever taste!  Those Jersey cows make some amazing ice cream.  We went home with a few half gallons: chocolate almond and coconut!  Oh Yummy!!!!

And, no trip to Intercourse is complete without some apple fritters!
