The West Meets the East: Day 1

Team Vacation is in business again baby!!!  Tim finally had a week of vacation time, so we decided to take advantage of it and check out some new sights.  I have always wanted to visit Maine, so that was at the top of my list!
Tim worked a 24 hour shift on Thursday, so that meant he had Friday off, allowing us an extra day of vacation.  We were able to leave home about 9:00 am when he got home and we finally were able to finish packing up.  The kids were great car riders.  Carter probably only asked if we were there yet a good 100 times, but no screaming, so we can't complain!  We drove through Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Vermont, and finally New Hampshire.    We pulled into Wildwood campground around 7:00 PM, just outside of Lincoln, New Hampshire.  It was a beautiful night, so we roasted s'mores by the fire and start gazed in our new tent without the rain fly.

Our new tent!  Everybody has their own space!!  We love it!!!

Preschool

Carter had his last day of preschool this week. He loved going to preschool this past year. I am so impressed with how much he learned. He was sad when I told him that he was going to have to wail till September to go back. Next year he will be going 4 days a week, so that gets him super excited! I can not believe how much he has grown this year!! Slow down kids, slow down!!

Potty

Kinley woke up from her nap dry, so I put her on the potty. Much to my amusement, she went pee and poop! You rock Kinley Grace!! I am sure this is a sign she won't be potty trained until she is 4 or so... :)
Here is my baby girl on the potty, and then a picture of me on the potty when I was little!

Feeling the heat

Its starting to warm up around here.  The kids are loving their water table!

Springing!

Carter loves his new Scooter!!!  It is so much fun to watch him learn how to use it, and to see the excitement in his face when he is able to balance with two feet on it.  He is getting good at it, and it actually makes him pretty tired, which is a bonus for me! :)

The flowers on this tree are so beautiful.  Carter picked one, gave it to Kinley, and said "This is for you, and now we can get married".  Hummm, sweet boy!

Last Ride

The boys on the Scooter for one last ride.

Tim finally sold the scooter this weekend.  It was kind of bittersweet.  Before we moved for medical school, Tim sold his dirt bike and bought this scooter to drive to school every day.  It was a great investment because we were able to be a one car family, and he would be able to drive it to school every day and only fill the thing up every 3 months or so.
Since we have moved away from Missouri, the scooter has really had very little use.  We actually tried to sell it in Utah, and didn't have any luck.  Since then, Tim has taken Carter around the circle around our house to let him practice driving.  And, big surprise  Carter loves it!
So I have been hounding the boys to put it up on Craigslist and to see if we can get it out of the garage.  Both boys would put out their lips and cry at me about it.  Finally they agreed, and within 3 hours of posting it online, it was sold and gone!!!  I think Tim and I were both a little in shock that it sold that fast!
I could tell that Tim was a little heart broken, but Carter looked up at him and said "Don't worry Dad, in a few years we will buy a motorcycle that goes really fast!  Vrrrrooom!"   Hummm, good luck talking me into that one boys!

Walking

This makes me giggle!  It is WAY too hard to get everyone to look at the camera and put on a good smile!

Kinley started walking last week, the day she turned 10 months old!  She has been working on it for a while now, and finally decided to let loose.  She has since gained a lot of balance and can really make great strides across the room.  I was able to capture her first big walk across the room on video.  Tim had not seen her in a few days, so he was so excited to see her walking!  I sent the video to him at work, where he proceeded to show all the PACU nurse it.  The nurses loved it so much, and make him Tim show it to the patients to brighten their day.  So, Kinley, your first steps are making quite the impression!
